XWiki’s open-source enterprise knowledge-management capabilities combined with OpenProject’s project management and collaboration platform create an integrated alternative to proprietary tools such as Confluence and Jira.
This collaboration has now resulted in bidirectional integration: XWiki’s OpenProject Integration (Pro) allows users to display, filter, and create OpenProject work packages directly from XWiki pages.
OpenProject 17.6 introduces native XWiki integration, enabling users to create and link XWiki pages from work packages and reference documentation directly within project descriptions.
The integration uses secure OAuth authentication and respects XWiki permissions, helping organizations connect project execution with the knowledge and documentation that supports it.
XWiki and Nextcloud's partnership focuses on combining open-source knowledge management with secure file sharing and collaboration to create a more integrated, digitally sovereign workplace environment.
The two European open-source companies have developed integrations that allow users to access and search XWiki knowledge content directly from Nextcloud, while authentication mechanisms enable users to move between the platforms without repeatedly signing in.
More recently, XWiki has continued strengthening the technical connection with Nextcloud through integrations such as Cristal, which provides wiki-style knowledge management and note-taking on top of Nextcloud files.
Since XWiki joined the Univention App Center in 2022, organizations have been able to deploy XWiki more easily within Univention Corporate Server (UCS), benefiting from centralized administration and integration with existing IT environments.
The collaboration has since developed further through Nubus, Univention’s open-source identity and access-management platform, which integrates with XWiki using standard interfaces and OpenID Connect (OIDC) to provide features such as Single Sign-On and user/group synchronization.
This integration also supports XWiki as the knowledge-management component of openDesk
The technological partnership between XWiki and Collabora Online combines XWiki’s open-source knowledge-management platform with Collabora Online’s web-based office suite to provide an integrated environment for document creation and collaboration.
Through the Collabora Connector Application (Pro), XWiki users can create, view, edit, and collaboratively work in real time on Word documents, spreadsheets, and presentations directly within their XWiki instance, without having to switch between applications.
The integration uses the WOPI protocol and supports XWiki’s existing permissions, while documents can remain under the organization’s control, reinforcing data sovereignty and privacy.
