Frequently asked questions

  • Can I try XWiki Cloud for free?

Sure. You can try an XWiki demo by going to try.xwiki.com and create a free test instance (no credit card required). You have 4 hours to validate the instance in order to have a 10-day trial. You can also extend your trial 2 more times. This way, you get a total of 30 trial days.

  • What is the difference between XWiki Cloud and self-hosted XWiki?

XWiki Cloud gives you the full XWiki experience without managing infrastructure, updates, backups, or maintenance. Self-hosted XWiki gives you complete control and responsibility for hosting and operations. Both options provide the same open-source platform and customization possibilities.

  • Can I convert my trial into a paid instance and keep my data?

Yes. When you make a purchase, you'll have the possibility to click a checkbox saying "I want to keep my DEMO data".

  • What security and compliance guarantees does XWiki Cloud have?

XWiki Cloud provides secure, EU-hosted knowledge management with ISO 27001 certification, enterprise-grade access controls, and secure authentication options. Your data stays protected with managed updates, backups, and security patches while keeping the transparency and flexibility of open source. Also, XWiki Cloud instances are hosted through OHV in France.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

You can pay by credit card via Stripe or Paypal, in which case online (30% discounted) pricing applies.

We also accept payment via wire transfer, for which standard prices apply. We recommend this second option only if the payment exceeds your country's or company's financial legal limit or if you'd like to discuss additional or different contract clauses.

  • What happens if we reach a user or storage limit?

You can choose to upgrade your Cloud contract online, at anytime. If you have a custom contract, please get in touch with your Account Manager and they will draft a new agreement that better fits your team.

  • Can I get a refund?

Yes, you can get a refund for XWiki Cloud during the first month for monthly subscriptions and within 30 days of payment for annual subscriptions.

  • If we want to move from XWiki Cloud to on-premises or vice versa later on, is it possible?

Yes, data ownership is non-negotiable. XWiki ensures you can deploy on your own terms, with the freedom to switch between hosting options or to migrate data anytime, without vendor lock-in. The easiest way is to export the full wiki and then import it back to your new instance.

  • What support response times are available?

Response times depend on your plan and issue severity. The pricing page lists reaction times by level, including business-day and business-hour response targets for minor, major, and critical issues.

  • What is XWiki Pro?

The package is the same whether you use a cloud-based wiki or a self-hosted setup. XWiki Pro is included by default in the Basic, Business, and Enterprise cloud plans.

  • Can I buy Pro Apps for my instance?

If you choose the Starter plan, you can customize your wiki instance by selecting from our collection of business apps and integrations that can be installed on top of XWiki starting at 95€/year per app. Mix and match according to your needs and build a knowledge management and collaboration software tailored to your team's workflow.
