This year at the 26th edition of Journées du Logiciel Libre, a French-speaking event dedicated to free and open-source software, our CryptPad R&D Engineer, Fabrice will give a talk in French titled “How to protect your data using cryptography? Use case: CryptPad,” explaining key concepts like encryption, public keys, and post-quantum security in an accessible way.
Whether you're tech-savvy or just privacy-curious, stop by to learn how cryptography is shaping the future of secure collaboration.
☁ Nextcloud Summit

We’re excited to return to the Nextcloud Summit, one of the most anticipated events in our calendar, as we get the chance to meet with partners, clients and other open-source enthusiasts. This year, you’ll have the chance to meet our CEO Ludovic Dubost, Sales Director Clément Aubin, and our new Marketing Director Dan Jayes, as they join a diverse community of innovators, enterprises, and public sector leaders.
The summit offers the perfect setting to dive into discussions on decentralization, data sovereignty, and how open-source tools like XWiki and Nextcloud are building the infrastructure for a more secure and user-respecting digital future. Whether you're interested in collaboration platforms, privacy-first alternatives, or just curious about how we can strengthen the open ecosystem together—let’s connect in Munich!
👍 COOL Days by Collabora
📅 Date: 2–4 June, 2025
📍 Location: Budapest, Hungary
🔗 Event link: COOL Days
We’re heading to COOL Days in Budapest, for Collabora Online’s annual gathering for partners, integrators, and the broader open-source community. Representing XWiki will be Lavinia, our Senior Software Development Engineer and the go-to expert on Collabora integration within XWiki.
Lavinia will be on-site to share how we’ve brought real-time office file editing into XWiki through our integration with Collabora Online, allowing seamless co-editing directly within wiki pages. She previously detailed this work in our recent webinar, Real-time editing with XWiki and Collabora Online, and will now be taking those insights to the COOL community as well. Whether you’re building your own integration or just exploring the potential of collaborative editing, Lavinia will be there to guide you through the technical details, share best practices, and exchange ideas with fellow innovators.
👀 APELL Conference
📅 Date: 10–11 June, 2025
📍 Location: Warsaw, Poland
🔗 Event link: APELL
At this year’s APELL Conference, our CEO Ludovic Dubost will take the stage to share XWiki SAS’s journey in building a sustainable business model entirely around 100% open-source software. He’ll explain why XWiki and CryptPad have resisted the pull of open-core and proprietary licensing models.
As demand rises for privacy-focused, open collaboration tools, Ludovic will outline how we’ve created value through fully open extensions while staying true to our open-source values. The APELL Conference is the ideal venue for this discussion, bringing together leaders who are shaping the future of open-source business in Europe. With the APELL Conference taking place just ahead of the Polish EU Presidency and OpenForum Europe’s Capital Series, it’s a prime moment for aligning business innovation with policy impact, and we’re looking forward to being part of the dialogue.
🚀 Interstis meet-up
📅 Date: 12 June, 2025
📍 Location: Ville-la-Grand, France
XWiki will be joining the upcoming Interstis meet-up, an event centered around digital collaboration within the Hexagone project. Representing us will be Cédric, our Account Manager, who will take the stage to briefly present XWiki SAS’s work, projects, and contributions to the open-source ecosystem. Hosted in partnership with the local municipality, the day includes interactive workshops on cybersecurity and digital sobriety. It’s a great opportunity to connect with local actors committed to building sustainable, secure digital solutions, and we’re proud to be part of the conversation.
🤖 OW2con’25
📅 Date: June 17-18, 2025
📍 Location: Paris-Châtillon (Hybrid)
🔗 Event link: OW2con
We’re looking forward to joining OW2con’25, a key event in the open-source calendar that brings together contributors, professionals, and advocates to explore the evolving role of open technologies. This year’s edition puts the spotlight on open source and responsible AI, with discussions on transparency, digital sovereignty, ethical frameworks, and the broader societal impact of AI.
Our CEO, Ludovic Dubost, will be presenting a talk titled “AI, SaaS & open source: Challenges or opportunities for open source companies?” He’ll share insights from XWiki’s own reflections and research on the rise of AI in collaborative SaaS platforms, including our work on the WAISE project. As AI features begin reshaping software pricing, user autonomy, and data handling, Ludovic will explore what this means for open-source vendors: Should we follow the trend or carve a different path? Can openness offer a responsible alternative?
If you're navigating the intersection of AI and open source, or you're simply curious about what the future holds, join us at OW2con to take part in the conversation.
🔊 NGI Forum
📅 Date: 19-20 June, 2025
📍 Location: Brussels, Belgium
🔗 Event link: NGI Forum
We’re wrapping up our summer circuit at the NGI Forum 2025, the flagship event of the European Commission’s Next Generation Internet (NGI) initiative. This year’s edition will spotlight the open internet stack, digital commons, and Europe’s path toward digital sovereignty.
We’ll be participating in the Impact Stories Roundtable on June 19, where we’ll showcase 2 NGI-supported initiatives: WAISE (Wiki AI Search Engine) and CryptPad. We’ll share how open-source tools can drive secure, privacy-focused, and ethical digital innovation in Europe.
With WAISE, we’re exploring how conversational AI can help users better navigate complex information spaces, making knowledge retrieval smarter, faster, and privacy-respecting. CryptPad, on the other hand, is a living example of what "cryptography-first" collaboration tools can achieve in protecting user data without compromising usability.
We’re looking forward to connecting with fellow technologists, policymakers, and researchers to keep pushing the boundaries of what open source can do.
